Theta Digital has begun shipping its new configurable Dreadnaught D modular amplifier. The high-end offering can accommodate up to 8 channels of amplification and offers four slots for proprietary Theta Digital amplifier modules. The company offers three modules, all based on the Hypex N-Core class D amplifier circuitry, allowing the Dreadnaught D to function in multichannel and stereo confrigurations. The stereo amplifier module (pictured below) is rated at 225W per channel (at 8 ohms); one of the two single-channel modules has comparable performance. The other bridges the two modules to deliver a massive 500W RMS at 8 ohms.
